Eastwards

to Chennek, our scout Girimai's (second wife's) home, then on and down through Chiro Leba, his old (first wife's) home, towards Ambikwo

to Ras Dejen

or maybe Ras Deshen - the pronunciation is somewhere in between, and western-alphabet spellings are never exact. It's Ethiopia's highest mountain at around 4600m, up to 4th in Africa depending how you count Mt Kenya and the Ruwenzoris.

Basecamp is the town of Ambikwo, the first place where we sleep indoors to avoid getting mauled by the dogs.

Early the next morning Girimai and I start up Ras Dejen

Yup, that's it.

It was probably Girimai's first time with a loaded camera too!
