The Chamonix train station

Finally, after 6 months, I've edited my pictures from a month down to 50 slides, scanned and captioned them. I've tried (as usual) to strike a balance between using the best pictures and keeping a thread of a story line.

There are 3 pages, the climbing is on the second and third.
Or you can just click each picture for the next.

The little train with windows in the roof, which runs up the valley from St. Gervais and over to Switzerland. A whole lot more expensive than hitching.

Winter-proof chalets with bright summer flowers.

Chalets Grands et Petit.

Mist and Wood.

Fresh spring water, ice cold and free in every village. Mont Blanc is hiding in the clouds behind.

The traditional store of firewood becomes mere decoration, and receives a fire alarm.

Tinker Toy for Grownups.
